  • IceCaps sign former Blackhawks pick Brown 

    Montreal Canadiens and St. John’s IceCaps General Manager Marc Bergevin announced today the IceCaps have signed defenseman Travis Brown to a one-year, two-way American Hockey League contract for the 2015-16 season. Chosen by the Chicago Blackhawks with the 149th overall selection in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, the six-foot-two, 200-pound blueliner split the past four seasons between the Moose Jaw Warriors and Victoria Royals of the Western Hockey League (WHL). Last year was Brown’s best as a junior, as the 21-year-old collected 18 goals and 57 points in 71 games with the Royals.   • Nehring signs AHL deal with Hartford 

    Hartford Wolf Pack general manager Jim Schoenfeld announced Wednesday that forward Chad Nehring has signed an American Hockey League contract with the Wolf Pack. Nehring saw action in 53 games with the Wolf Pack this past season, his first career AHL stint, and registered four goals and eight assists for 12 points, along with 50 penalty minutes and a +2 rating.
