IceCaps turn tables on Bulldogs
It was a reversal of fortunes for the St. John’s IceCaps Saturday night at Mile One Centre. A day after being blanked by the Hamilton Bulldogs 4-0, the IceCaps stormed out of the gates and set the tone early en route to a resounding 6-2 victory, their first at home in franchise history.

Home opener just the tip of the iceberg
An opening night loss was not enough to damper the mood at Mile One Centre in St. John’s. With special guests Howie Meeker, Marc Crawford, Bill Watters, and AHL President Dave Andrews on hand, the St. John’s IceCaps officially ushered in a new era of pro hockey to the province of Newfoundland and Labrador.

IceCaps players visit local media
A day before they take to the ice in the inaugural home opener, several St. John’s IceCaps players made their rounds to media outlets in the capital city. The players participated in a media blitz Thursday afternoon to ramp up the anticipation surrounding the city’s brand new pro hockey team.

Anthem Auditions
The St. John's IceCaps are pleased to announce we are having auditions for performers to sing the national anthems before games. Auditions will take place Monday, Oct. 17 at 3 p.m. at Mile One Centre. Enter the building through Gate 2 and register with Jenelle Herbert, Game Day Producer.

IceCaps Alley open today
IceCaps Alley, the official merchandise store of the St. John’s IceCaps, will be open today at 12 noon at Mile One Centre. IceCaps fans can purchase sweaters, hats, foam fingers and other paraphernalia to show their support for the newest team in the American Hockey League. Season ticket holders are entitled to a 15% discount on merchandise at IceCaps Alley. To receive this discount, bring the discount card located on the back of the season ticket booklet along with proof of identification.

St. John’s abuzz as opening night nears
The weekend can’t come soon enough for hockey fans in St. John’s. October 14th marks the official return of professional hockey to Newfoundland and Labrador as the AHL newest team, the St. John’s IceCaps, prepare to host the Hamilton Bulldogs at Mile One Centre Friday and Saturday nights.

Peter Mannino records shutout for IceCaps
Goaltending was the story of the weekend as the St. John’s IceCaps won their first two games in the AHL Peter Mannino recorded the shutout and was named the game’s first star as the IceCaps blanked the Manchester Monarchs 1-0 in New Hampshire.

IceCaps win inaugural game
Mark Flood scored the first goal in the St. John’s IceCaps’ history to help propel the newest American Hockey League team to victory in its inaugural game Friday night, a 4-1 win over the Providence Bruins.

607 AHL Grads Start 2011-12 Season on NHL Rosters
The American Hockey League is proud to have 607 graduates on National Hockey League opening-day rosters, making up nearly 83 percent of the NHL’s player pool to begin the 2011-12 campaign.
