Weekend Preview: IceCaps visit Monarchs, Bruins Posted by IceCaps on


The IceCaps begin a six-game Atlantic Division road trip this weekend with a pair of games in Manchester against the Monarchs and a Sunday afternoon tilt in Providence versus the Bruins.

LAST GAME: The Hershey Bears shut out the IceCaps 4-0 last Saturday night at Mile One Centre, securing a series split after falling to St. John’s on Friday. Peter LeBlanc scored what stood to be the game-winner for the Bears and Dmitry Orlov added a goal and two assists. Derek Whitmore and Casey Wellman picked up the other tallies for the Bears, while Philipp Grubauer kicked aside 30 shots to pick up Hershey’s first win of the season. Eddie Pasquale stopped 21 shots in a losing effort for the IceCaps, and Kael Mouillierat led St. John’s with four shots on goal. | RECAP

On Oct. 4 St. John’s scored twice in the final two minutes of regulation to force overtime, but lost 4-3 on a breakaway goal by Nick Johnson. The following night, the IceCaps posted a 5-1 win on the strength of an Eric O’Dell hat trick to take three of a possible four points.
