Schnell reassigned to Colorado Eagles
The St. John’s IceCaps have announced today that forward Ryan Schnell has been reassigned.
The 23-year-old forward, who signed with the Winnipeg Jets organization this summer, will report to the Colorado Eagles of the ECHL. He attended the St. John’s IceCaps training camp, where he was injured. He has yet to play a regular season game for the IceCaps.
Schnell played 12 games with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins last season, where he earned one assist and 46 penalty minutes. He also played in 18 games with the ECHL’s Wheeling Nailers, where he recorded four assists and 108 penalty minutes. The 6’3”, 225-pound forward has played in 23 career AHL games.
The IceCaps head out this week for a five-game road trip that starts with three games in three days this weekend.
