ST. JOHN’S, NL – The St. John’s IceCaps pulled out a 3-1 St. Patrick’s Day win over the Rochester Americans on Friday night at Mile One Centre.

Mark MacMillan kicked off the scoring in the first period with an unassisted tally on an interception of an American’s pass. Jeremy Gregoire potted the second goal of the night for the home team after a breakaway play went under review. Keegan Lowe picked up the lone helper on Gregoire’s marker.

Ryan Johnston would add on another goal on a tic-tac-toe play from Bobby Farnham and Stefan Matteau to make it 3-0 for St. John’s. Rochester came back with a goal with just five minutes left in the game, but couldn’t complete the comeback.

IceCaps’ netminder Charlie Lindgren turned aside 31 saves in the win, while Amerks’ goaltender Linus Ullmark stopped 24-of-27 shots. The IceCaps are now on a three-game win streak.
