Jets Re-Sign Eric O’Dell Posted by Dave Salter on

The Winnipeg Jets are pleased to announce they have agreed to terms with forward Eric O’Dell on a new one-year, two-way contract worth $600,000 at the NHL level.

O’Dell, 23, played in 59 games with the St. John’s IceCaps last season. In that time, the right-handed centre recorded 55 points (29G, 26A) and 26 penalty minutes. He led his team in goals, assists, overall points and power play goals and also holds the franchise record for most goals and points in IceCaps history. The Ottawa, ON native has played in 101 career AHL games between St. John’s and Chicago for 77 career points (41G, 36A) and 53 penalty minutes. O’Dell was selected as CCM/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending March 17 when he struck three goals, two assists and a plus-3 rating in two IceCaps wins.

He was originally drafted by the Anaheim Ducks in the second round, 39th overall, in the 2008 NHL Draft.
