Jets assign Aaron Gagnon to St. John’s

The Winnipeg Jets announce today they have assigned forward Aaron Gagnon to their AHL affiliate, the St. John’s IceCaps.

Gagnon joined the Jets’ organization as a free agent this past offseason. He split time in 2010-11 betweenthe Dallas Stars and their AHL affiliate Texas Stars. The Quesnel, B.C.-native recorded his first NHL point with an assist on Dec. 6, 2010, against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Last season Gagnon contributed two points (0G, 2A) in 19 games with Dallas and totaled 37 points (14G, 23A) in 58 games with the Texas Stars.

Gagnon was originally drafted by the Phoenix Coyotes in the eighth round, 240th overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
