The Winnipeg Jets today announced they have agreed to terms with forward Carl Klingberg on a one year, two-way contract worth $650,000.
Klingberg, 23, played in three games with the Winnipeg Jets last season. In that time, he recorded his first NHL goal on Apr. 11/14 at Calgary. The Gothenburg, Sweden native also appeared in 65 games with the St. John’s IceCaps where he accumulated 43 points (22G, 21A) and 42 penalty minutes. He also played 21 playoff games with the AHL club for eight points (3G, 5A) and 14 penalty minutes. The right-handed winger has appeared in 10 career NHL games, between Atlanta and Winnipeg, for one goal and four penalty minutes.
He was originally drafted by the Atlanta Thrashers in the second round, 34th overall, in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
