IceCaps sign Weller and Mouillierat to PTOs Posted by IceCaps on

The St. John’s IceCaps announced today they have signed forwards Shawn Weller and Kael Mouillierat (KAYL MOO-luhr-at) to professional tryout contracts.

Weller, 26, has played in 24 games this season with the South Carolina Stingrays of the ECHL. In that span, the left-winger has recorded 15 points (7G, 8A) and 24 penalty minutes. Last season, Weller played in 41 games with the IceCaps and notched 24 points (10G, 14A) and 28 penalty minutes. He was drafted by the Ottawa Senators in the third round, 77th overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.

Mouillierat, 24, has played in 19 games this season with the Idaho Steelheads of the ECHL. In that span, the Edmonton, AB native has recorded 27 points (14G, 13A) and 29 penalty minutes. His 27 points so far this season rank him fourth overall in the ECHL in scoring. Last season Mouillierat suited up in 44 games for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers and as a rookie notched 23 points (8G, 15A) with 47 penalty minutes and a plus-16 rating.
