IceCaps sign Dries to ATO

The St. John’s IceCaps today announced they have signed forward Danny Dries to an amateur tryout contract.

Dries, 23, has played in 28 games with the Ohio State University Buckeyes this season. In that time, the Lake Orion, MI native recorded 22 points (13G, 9A) and 34 penalty minutes.

Dries was a two-time CCHA Player of the Week and in 2011 was the Vermont Catamount Cup MVP. He played two seasons with the University of New Hampshire before transferring to Ohio State for two seasons to complete his college career.

Dries will join the team prior to their game Wednesday night in Hershey versus the Bears.
