IceCaps recall Cody Sol from Colorado

The St. John’s IceCaps today announced they have recalled defenceman Cody Sol from the Colorado Eagles of the ECHL.

Sol, 22, has played in 25 games with the Eagles so far this season. In that span, he has accumulated eight points (5G, 3A) and leads his club with 109 penalty minutes.

The Woodstock, ON native has played in seven career games with the IceCaps from Dec. 10/12 to Feb. 3/13. In those games, he recorded nine penalty minutes.

He was originally drafted by the Atlanta Thrashers in the fifth round, 125th overall, in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
