IceCaps Celebrate Christmas During December Homestand Posted by IceCaps on
The St. John’s IceCaps will hold Christmas-themed, special-event nights during their four home games this month.
On Friday, during the second intermission of the IceCaps game versus the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, the IceCaps will host the annual NTV Teddy Toss which provides plush toys for the Salvation Army to distribute to needy children. Fans can bring a stuffed toy, wrapped in a clear plastic bag to toss onto the ice surface.
One hour prior to Saturday’s 7:30 contest with the Penguins, the IceCaps will team with Purolator and the Community Food Sharing Association to help Shut out Hunger with a food drive on the Mile One Centre concourse. Fans are asked to bring a non-perishable food item to support those in need.
On Tuesday, December 10th, when the IceCaps host the Syracuse Crunch, fans are asked to dress in their ugliest Christmas sweater. Participants will have their photo taken by the IceCaps Game Crew and are then asked to post it to Facebook for a chance to win a grand prize valued at $2,500. Photos will be taken in the lobby of the main entrance to Mile One Centre during the first and second intermissions.
Finally, on December 11th, during the first and second intermissions of the IceCaps game versus the Crunch, fans can have their photo taken with Buddy the Puffin and Santa Claus.
